On 1 October 2017 – from CARS own initiative – started an research project on ‘Instruments and effects of combating unfair use of superior power in trade of agriculture and food product’ (www.cars.wz.uw.edu.pl/research ...). Project has an ‘open’ character, it means not only that any interested researcher may takes part in its implementation but also a variety of presentations forms of research results are accepted. Research team leader is Adam Jasser, deputy CARS director.

The 1st product of this project was the 8th volume of the ‘internet Antitrust and Regulation Quartely’ (iKAR 2017, vol. 8), devoted to selected problems of combating unfair use of superior power, edited by Maciej Bernatt (www.ikar.wz.uw.edu.pl). The 1st event of the project was one-day seminar on ‘Statute on combating unfair use of superior power – interpreting and applying; important challenges”, which was organized in the first week of March 2018.

In the framework of CRANE (Competition and Regulation. Academic Network. Europe ( www.cars.wz.uw.edu.pl/cooperation ...) the broad comparative international research on legal grounds and practice in this field, in particular in eight countries of the Central and East Europe, were provided in 2018. The studies included eight countries of Middle and East Europe (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia). The book containing the national reports will be published in April. The last phase of the implementation of this project will be the international scientific conference. It will be organized in early authumn 2019.
