On May 18, 2017, the sixth ceremonial announcement of the results of the CARS Award competition, organized annually by the Center for Antimonopoly and Regulatory Studies (CARS), WZ UW, took place in the Council Room of the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw. This time the prize was awarded for the best monographs in the field of sectoral (regulatory) regulation..
The winner of the 2017 CARS (regulatory) award was dr hab. Filip Elżanowski from the Department of Law and Administrative Procedure at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw for the (habilitation) thesis entitled The legal and procedural situation of an energy company in matters related to energy regulation (Wolters Kluwer, 2015).
The works of Dr. Ewa Galewska from the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław, Dr. Łukasz Grzejdziak from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Łódź, dr. Rafał Nagaja from the Faculty of Management at the University of Szczecin and dr. hab. Adam Szafrański from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw.
As in previous years, the sponsor of the award was PKO Bank Polski S.A. The Eagle Award statuette was presented by Ms Justyna Borkiewicz, Director of the Management Board of PKO Bank Polski S.A. accompanied by the members of the Chapter.
Directly after the Gala, there was the "Regulators Panel" on Activities of sector regulators on the implementation of the Strategy for Responsible Development , attended by Mr. Jerzy Kwieciński, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Development, Maciej Bando, President of the Regulatory Office Energetyki, Krzysztof Dyl, Vice President of the Office of Electronic Communications, Radosław Pacewicz, General Director of the Office of Rail Transport and - as moderator - prof. Stanisław Piątek, Deputy Director of CARS.
