On 14 June 2023 ASCOLA Central Europe Chapter, ASCOLA South East Europe and ASCOLA Eastern Europe (Baltics) jointly held a webinar “JUDICIAL REVIEW OF COMPETITION CASES: THE CEE AND SEE COUNTRIES PERSPECTIVES”. Judge Krystyna Kowalik-Bańczyk delivered a key-note speech.
Judicial review plays a key role in the enforcement of competition law. Building on the expansive Judicial Review of Competition Law Enforcement in the EU: Empirical Mapping 2004-2021 project, which encompasses 27 Member States and the UK (led by Or Brook and Barry Rodger), this webinar focuses on Czech Republic, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Poland. It reflects on much-needed empirical studies undertaken by the national rapporteurs covering all national judgments reviewing the application of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU (and domestic equivalents) during the 2004-2021 period.
