The green economic transition is forcing a paradigm shift in many areas. Competition law and policy are no exception. The open lecture by Prof. Jurgita Malinauskaite (Brunel University London) provided a good opportunity to reflect on this topic. Prof Malinauskaite is an eminent specialist in competition law and energy law. Her lecture entitledCompetition Law and Sustainability in the EU: Modelling the Perspectives of National Competition Authorities was be based on a cross-cutting article published in January 2023 and provided an understanding of the challenges facing the application of competition law in times of transition in EU Member States, including Poland.
Guest lectures
On Thursday 7 December 2023, the seminar 'Parallel Enforcement? Between DMA and Competition Law" was organised by the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies of the University of Warsaw. The seminar included a guest lecture by Professor Alexandre De Streel, a well-known expert on regulation and competition policy in the digital economy, followed by a discussion with the participants. The seminar was moderated by Maciej Bernatt.
CARS Climate and Energy Laboratory organized an open lecture given by prof. Henrik Bjørnebye (Head of the Department of Petroleum and Energy Law Oslo University) entitled: "Norwegian energy resource management law".
