Guest Lecture "Chicago School of Antitrust” by prof. Michael Jacobs
We are happy to announce that on 11 October 2016 CARS is organizing the 1st guest lecture in new academic year. Prof. Michael Jacobs from DePaul University Chicago will hold a lecture at 5.30 pm at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw, on the significance of Chicago School of Antitrust “The Durability of the Chicago School in Antitrust: What Accounts for it?”.
Prof. Jacobs is a renowned expert in the US antitrust law. His papers were published in the most prestigious American journals like Antirust Law Journal or Yale Law Journal. His work was also cited by the US Supreme Court. Prof. Jacobs teaches also at universities in Australia and China. See more.
The lecture is part of the CARS Guest Lectures dedicated to axiology of competition protection.

Laboratory of Postal Market
On 15 August 2016 Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies (Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw) established Laboratory of Postal Market. After the Laboratory of Civil Aviation created on 15 May 2016, it is another CARS’ subunit, which will focus on regulated and specific sectors.
Cooperation Agreement with the Railway Institute
We have signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Railway Institute in Warsaw. It is the first cooperation agreement with industrial scientific institution.

CARS book and conference on Investigation of compensation claims for breach of competition rules before the Polish court
Before Christmas, another (21st) monograph from the "CARS handbooks and monographs" series will be published: Investigating compensation claims for breach of competition rules before the Polish court edited by Anna Piszcz and Dominek Wolski, in which a group of authors - theoreticians and practitioners - analyzes the assumptions and problems of the implementation of the Compensation Directive (2014/104 / EU).
The CARS Scientific Conference on these issues will take place on April 20, 2016. In two sessions - moderated by Professor Stanisław Sołtysiński and Judge Katarzyna Lis - the authors of the book will present their cognitive findings and implementation proposals, on which an open discussion will take place.

Laboratory of Civil Aviation
The Laboratory of Civil Aviation was established on 15 July 2016 as a part of the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies (CARS), Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw. It is the first unit of its kind, which will encompass main CARS activities within the framework of regulated and specific sectors.

Dr Jan Walulik is a full-time research and development employee of CARS
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jan Walulik joined us on February 1, 2016. He is an assistant professor at CARS. He will deal with regulatory issues, mainly transport, with particular emphasis on regulations in civil aviation.
Jan Walulik is dr. of legal sciences, laureate of the "CARS 2015 Award" for the work "Regulatory reform. An example of air transport ". He has initiated habilitation proceedings at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw on the basis of the monograph "Progressive Commercialization of Airline's Governance Culture" (EuroPrawo, 2015).
