The UOKiK and CARS conference on the Economics of Competition Protection was held
On 13 and 14 October 2015, a conference on the economics of competition protection was held, organized by UOKiK and CARS. The completed program of the conference is presented below.
An international seminar on vertical agreements was held on the first day of the conference. It was attended by representatives of the European Commission, national competition protection authorities, representatives of academia and practice. The films of the speakers in this part of the competition are available on the website of UOKiK.
On the second day of the conference, there were four panels devoted to the use of economics in competition protection, the application of economic analyzes and the conditions and conditions for the use of quantitative methods in the application of competition law, as well as the economics of competition protection and regulation against anti-competitive practices.

CARS Conference: Economics of Competition Protection - Call for Papers
On October 12, 2015, the CARS conference on Economics of Competition Protection will be held. We invite you to submit proposals for papers by May 28, 2015. Registration of participants will be carried out on June 15. - 07/15/2015.
Jean Monnet Network on enforcement of EU law (EULEN)
EULEN is a network funded by the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ action, composed of 9 universities from 8 European countries. The network focuses on the enforcement of EU law and policies. Specifically, the University of Warsaw (Dr. M. Bernatt and Dr. L. Zoboli), and Bocconi University (Prof. Dr. F. Ghezzi and Dr. M. Maggiolino) are responsible for the coordination of the EU competition law area. More information is available here.
CARS and UOKiK economic conference (13-14.10.2015)
On 13 and 14 October 2015, the CARS and UOKiK economic conference will be held at the UOKiK Conference Center.
The conference will consist of two parts: (1) International Seminar on Verticla Restraints (October 13, 2015) and (2) the national conference "Economics of Competition Protection". Registration of the conference participants (both parts together) via the UOKiK website has started.
Habilitation of Dr. Cezary Banasiński
We are happy to inform you that the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw has just given Dr. Cezary Banasiński with a postdoctoral degree in law, incl. for his excellent work Discretion in antitrust law (Wolters Kluewer 2015). Dr hab. C. Banasiński is a close associate of CARS, including a member of the iKAR Scientific Council and a member of the CARS Award Committee.

We are happy to inform that a new special volume of Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies has just arrived. It has been published to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the accession to the European Union of ten European countries, amongst them eight from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Continuing the tradition set by the previous volume of YARS (2013, 6(8)), the research papers published in the current volume focus not only on the Polish competition law regime but also present the national competition laws of some other CEE countries. Guest Lecture, Prof. Paul Nihoul (December 17 2015)
We invite you to join us for the CARS sixth Guest Lecture entitled FREEDOM OF CHOICE AS A POSSIBLE PARADIGM FOR COMPETITION LAW. The lecture will be given by Prof. Dr Paul Nihoul from Catholic University Louvain. Prof. Nihoul is also the Chair of Academic Society of Competition Law, ASCOLA and a future judge of the EU Court. The Lecture is organized with the support of Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and Competition Law Association.
